Patmos UMC celebrates baptism as a sign of God's grace and invitation to all people, a reminder of our salvation in Jesus Christ, and our commitment to be his disciples. Because like God's grace baptism is a free gift and not something we earn, we baptize people of all ages: adults, youth, and children. And because baptism is an initiation into the community of faith, parents who desire baptism for their children must be active in the life of Patmos church.
For adults who want to be baptized, this is an incredible opportunity to profess faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and commit to our common life through worship, life groups, and missions. Adults who were baptized into the Christian faith as children do not need to be re-baptized.
